Track Night

We had a full crowd on Tuesday. The workout was a descending ladder. Some folks began with a one mile. The longer variation began with a two mile. Then all descended to 800's, then 400's. The heat is getting more noticeable. We'll soon revert to shorter fare.

Corbett hill run

Gordon, (and anybody else interested in hill running) Here is the link for my pal, Manny's epic:

Manny's Corbett run epic 2009

He's planned 1073 miles of hill running, 994 miles on his road bike, 183 miles on MTB and 240 miles Sailing in 60 days. Feel free to post comments of encouragement for him and his girlfriend, Brenda who is driving a camper van around for him to sleep in at night.

Here's a good site to explain what a Corbett is:

Hill bagging scotland

Suddenly these runs don't seem like such a big deal !!

sploosh fest

Good to see a couple of new (for me anyway) faces out - Annie and Bill, despite the weather. Along with Rusty and Gordon, who joined us at Colonial Lake we splashed out into the deluge.

We didn't get as far as the bridge, but did some hilly laps in the aquarium parking garage after running round the battery in the ensuing monsoon. I nabbed a few more inclines in the Memorial Hospital parking structure before returning to West Ashley via the JI connector - ended up about 15 miles:

Can't walk very well now :(

PS - Trevor - you're a pansy !

Running Article

David Quick wrote an interesting article in today's Post and Courier. It is a sad testament to drivers who loose their temper, as well as their perspective.

What's on people's schedule for Sunday morning?

Cooler Weather

We had a good crowd at the track last night. The cool weather got everybody motivated. A few folks went on a run through the neighborhood. The rest of us did 800's on the track. Rusty is in Los Angeles for a few days. We spoke on the phone and I asked him to check out the west coast running scene and report back to us.

What does our Sunday run look like? What distance are folks looking to go?

Mother's Day

The storm clouds threatened on Tuesday, but it didn't amount to much. Did we have a sparse crowd that night? I didn't make it.

What's everyone's plan for Mother's Day? I might be letting my wife sleep in. Who's going to make it Sunday morning?

BTW Trevor, in case you don't already know; Yes, you do have to purchase a gift for your wife.

Track Night

We ran 12 on Sunday. We hit our standard downtown loop. As the temperature rises, setting a course with lots of water stop options becomes more important. Like most runners, we know where to find pretty much every water fountain on the peninsula.

Does anyone have a track workout planned for tonight? The last few Tuesdays, the larger group has been amenable to whoever shows up with a plan. At this point, I'm fairly open to anything with short recoveries and a total distance around 5,000.

Sunday Run

We had another big crowd on Tuesday night. A few more people appear to be prepping for fall marathons. We have a healthy number of folks signed up for Marine Corps Marathon and NYC Marathon.

Tomorrow, I've got 12 on my schedule. See you guys in the a.m.
